The question is, why would you want too? The blingtastic D4 looks worse than the D3. But more worryingly you'd have to be completely shallow to want to do such a thing, just to give the impression of keeping up with the Jones.

Yes there are - they're called Land Rover dealers.

All you have to do is leave your Discovery 3 there and some funny bits of paper which are called money.

Some time later they will give you a call to come and collect a vehicle which looks exactly like a Discovery 4.

Best part of this is that you don't have to do any of the work yourself, so it really looks like a factory job smile

um doesn't that seem to be exactly what I was getting at. You only want to do, in order to make people think its a newer model?

Anyhow, is the sheet metal different? Could you not just buy the lights, grille and such, either new or from a breaker and fit them to the D3? I have no idea if LR changed any sheet metal though.

To top it off it'll do nothing for the value of your D3, if not worsen its appeal to a future buyer IMO.

There is a d3 locally with d4 back lights so they must be relativley straight forward? Although i often smile to myself when i see it at the 04 d3 trying to look like a d4 with the dateless number plate etc

I guess if you wait until spring and then add in the amount it would cost to do the facelift and the amount you might devalue your current car (if any), you could be very close indeed to buying one of the cheaper D4s which must get under 20k by next spring I would have thought

Ignore the forum tard, you can replace many of the D3 bits with D4 stuff and if you choose to do so it's your perogative.

Ignore the haters. Anyone that accuses you of trying to keep up with the Jones', or of doing it to make your car look newer to fool people, or who gleefully smirks when they see such vehicles, is obviously of the jealous type, churlish type, or is of materialistic nature themselves, otherwise these thoughts wouldn't enter their head.

You can get lots of parts to freshen up the D3 and sustain your love of the vehicle, which I appreciate is what you are trying to do. The back lights are easy to come by, but some have resistor or current problems as the LED runs at lower voltage. I'd be careful as having owned a D3 I know how bulb problems can trigger all manner of christmas tree style warning lights on the dash! You can also get upgraded grilles, which clip in and out very easily, as well as colour coded tailgate handles and wheel arches. Upgrade wheels are also available. The famous auction website would be my starting point. Loads of companies cater for this stuff.
