I've watched the price of this one drop and drop over the months from £5k down to £2,500 now for a very smart looking wedge. Couple of small jobs to do but proper bargain!

I wonder if the paintwork is rough up close. I see it has had a colour change. I paid £3k for mine with nearly a years MOT and just some minor paint work issues.

Yep and you surely got a mega bargain with yours! - especially with all the 390SE body kit.

Hadn't noticed the colour change to be honest - maybe not a bargain then afterall

No MOT always puts people off, especially on a classic car. If it was me it would be worth investing the £'s needed to get the MOT in place and then asking the higher price

I looked at this ad when I was searching, but you know what put me off?

The wording of the ad

With all due respect, and no offence intended, the wording of the ad is a little terse, I know, we all get cheesed off with time wasters, but maybe the previous viewers weren't time wasters but were looking for a car, but alas this was not for them??

A more friendly and welcoming ad would surely attract more interest?

I was on the verge if buying that car it was up for around 6k
But when I rang he said he would let it go for £2800
I still sometimes think I should have bought it.. If I'm honest.
It was purely the distance from me and the no MOT. That put me off..

I remember this car originally coming up for sale 18 months ago.

I seem to remember it being in Ireland? The colour change was noted at the time, then.
Seem to remember the car had been sat for a while then?

It strikes me as a 'hot potato' wedge (mmmm, tatsy wink ) - my car was the same.
Needed a whole bunch of work, and changed through at least, I'd say, three owners, before I bought it for a rock bottom price, and have slowly spent the last couple of years attempting to get it on the road and make it reliable (still working on the latter!).

I would not be surprised to find there's at least £1000 worth of work needed on that car just to get it an MOT, possibly more.

If a bright yellow wedge with a magnolia interior is your thing though, this could be the project for you!

Just out of curiosity, what do people think is actually cheap for a 350i?

I sold my last wedge for £2500 around 5 years ago. At that time the price seemed quite flat. Now I think anything between £3 and £3.5k is cheap for a fairly usable car with good MOT.

I have to agree that it is easy to end up spending a lot of cash to get a car up to MOT standard and just as you want it.

Northern Irish plate... let's hope it's not the old dodge of taking a crashed car to NI, repairing and re-registering it there (which loses its UK insurance history) then re-importing to the mainland as a 'kosher motor'...

I spoke to the seller early in the summer and the attitude I got over the phone was I can't be bother to get it out for you to come and look at, I was looking at travelling 150 miles to view, so couldn't be bothered as didn't want to get there and not be able to get a decent look at it. Still looking for a reasonable later model wedge.

I think so Adam, there's not much out there for less than £4k and quite a few cars over the £6k. On the other hand, I suppose you can ask for any price you want...cars like ours are only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.
