I'm sure like me many of you have succumbed and bought some AM logo'd clothing . A couple of the Tee shirts are really quite nice. One of Molly's seems to emphasise her chest. The question is when do you wear said clothing? I do recall being at the factory and been told never when you are in the car because you will look a bit of a knob. Down at the pub is a no no because people seem to hate you. The young lady at H.R.Owen has flogged me the 2 in 1 coat which is really excellent quality and offers great flexibility. It has "Aston Martin Racing" clearly emblazoned on it. I wore it a couple of times whilst on tour , still felt a bit self conscious though. We were going out the other night , Molly was allowing me to dress myself for a change, I elected to wear the black AM racing tee shirt with a cream coloured linen jacket over the top. The negative reaction I received and Miami Vice comments meant that I had to get changed . So my question is , When and where?

Rob, you are the last person I would expect to be self-conscious smile.
For me, the answer is never. AM make cars, (Insert you chosen brand here) make clothes. It could be worse, we could all have fezza's and there merchandising is twice as prolific.

To answer your question of when to wear it though scratchchin How about your meeting next week with the bigwigs? idea.

When Rob is easy.......................when ever Molly isn't around.

Where, probably safest behind locked doors or at a track event..........yes

If you are comfortable with it and in it wear it when and where you like....rolleyes if you have the figure or physique for it.

I got cajoled into trying on the Black Puffa type Jacket a few years ago in a certain showroom,I looked like
a bloody Ninja Turtle.

Possibly when attending a motorsport event. It does make a classy change from all that Vodafone / McLaren clothing.

Alternatively, when you go to H.R.Owen.
Customers might mistake you for an employee, and ask questions.

I never wear clothing with names or logos that are very obvious. Why wear an Armani t-shirt with the name all over the front. I can only assume the wearer wants people to know they can afford an an Armani shirt.

Plus, if they want me to advertise their business then give me the shirt for free!

Don't do it Rob. You will look a knob.

Our get together's and motoring events are about the only times I don't feel too much of a knob in the gear.

OK. My rules.........

To wear:

Any event which is not solely Aston Martin. Sunday Service or general car shows or racing for example. Reminds the riff raff that they need to work harder.

When you're out driving on your own. Who cares?

On the golf course. Everyone dresses like a knob on a golf course.

On holiday. Because it's just a little less chav than a Man U shirt. But be subtle. A small wings logo on a polo shirt is enough. Not the racing stuff with numbers on.

School open evenings. Just to embarrass your own children.

Not to wear:

Any Aston only event. You only need to tell everyone you own an Aston once. Turning up in one is adequate. However, an emergency jacket gathered from the boot if it rains, or maybe a branded brolly, is acceptable.

Down the pub unless you've just returned from an event. See above. If you get caught out and you've really just come straight from home......lie. Otherwise, be prepared to have all of your piss extracted from your soul.

Anywhere you go to eat that has a wine menu. McDonalds is fine, though. See above Riff Raff comment.

School open evenings because the good looking, leggy English teacher will think you're a knob.

Rob, great to know that you are keeping the flag flying for the Eighties. I assume that you had the sleeves pushed up to go with the big hair.

Noooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not ever!!!!!!!!!!!!! You wouldn't buy a Car made by Timex, would you?

However, wearing an AM watch if you don't actually own an Aston is somehow O.K Sorry, can't explain the logic, but it is the law.

I have no problem wearing Aston Martin clothing.

In fact, Rob, if you wish to sell on any unwanted items, I'm your man smile

You put it next to your Amvox with the Am logo on it - which is underneath your AM umbrella hehe
