Strange Day on the motorway....

Sign "Pedestrians on the motorway"
Turned out to be a cyclist riding up the M5 hard shoulder in the middle of Gloucestershire.
M42. Smash 3 lanes blocked out of 4 just past an exit. No emergency vehicles in attendance yet. Police Discovery comes straight off motorway without stopping to see if any assistance needed. No lights so not rushing somewhere else, and no-one in the back so no prisoner on board. Less of a service than I would hope my relatives would get.
M1 South - Vehicle stranded on the Lane 2 exit to the A42. Friendly AA man has stopped and using his bright flashing lights to defend the rear, presumably pending help to let the Highways people get the car moved. Providing more of a public service than the Police in the previous event.
All very odd.
Plus in the last mile of coming home my car has thrown up every brake fault known to man
