G'day all,

Just browsing through the Nov Street Machine and their review of the 6.0L LS2 and there are some interesting things bought up. Firstly there are rumours of PWR Supercharger kits being fitted from the factory, that should even things up moreso with the Jag. Also, although the 300kw GTS has been dropped this time round, the word is that it will return with the VE, with the 373kw LS7 as the likely powerplant..Now that would be something I would like to see!..

i have just read Nov street machine, and they report every HSV will be fitted with the 6 litre LS2, rated at around 400 hp, same as output as the old GTS, which will be dropped from the new line up, but will return when the VE model is released with maybe a LS7, they also reckon there's a rumor when the other SS and SV8 commodore/monaro gets the LS2, hsv will factory fit PWR supercharger kits.

i also seen a couple of photos of the new torana at the Sydney motor show, cant think where now, but i was disappointed to hear it won't be fitted with a V8, but an alloytec V6 (GM's replacement for the ecotec as fitted to vectra's)

The V6 isn't that bad. It is a 3.6l 190kw (almost 300bhp). Twin turbo and rear wheel drive. I don't think the Vectra can be compared to the Torana. True, it's not a V8, but if you want a V8, don't buy a Torana (or a Vectra).

Looking at:

it does look quite vectra-ish dosn't it. Still, one of the requirements on my shopping list is V8, so I won't be buying one either.
