oddly enough it was two Fords on Ebay that a mate and I were discussing the merits of yesterday

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1984-FORD-GRANADA-MK2-CO...

and this

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1985-Ford-Capri-3-5-V8-T...

He preferred the Capri whilst I was rather taken with the Granada

"Although the paint work looks good it is crazed in places"

At first I thought this was a typo but now I reckon that's what he meant to say.

Yes, but there are loads of standard, original Capris, no shortage, this is a genuine historical insight into the Seventies Custom scene, Belle Vue Rod and Custom Show, Rainy City Cruisers etc, of questionable taste, of course but it is wonderful in its naffness, just looking for the Piccadilly 261 sticker.

Stuff like this needs to be saved, as is, and perhaps a few Max Power Punto or Fiesta, it is youth culture, it gets forgotten.

As an 8 year old when this was around I would have been awe struck and wished my dad would do a button Dralon interior and metal flake job on his Capri.

Is that a mirror in the mural on the flank of the Capri?

That Granada running without an airbox is there a chance of blow pack, or that's less of an issue with injected engines.

That C pillar reminds me of the R15/17 and the front looks Alpine 610/GTA like?

Or it's just the Firenza droop snoot look?

That Capri needs a Transit twin wheel axle on the back.

I remember this back in the 70s. Even as a lad, I struggled to like this sort of stuff and history is where they need to stay.
