Hello

I have newly refurbed calipers and new girling pads. With a single shim behind each pad.
But they rattle !

I couldn't work out how to fit the springs that came with the pads, as I didn't take any off, can someone point me in the right direction ?

Have you got the right pads with the right size holes.

If you've got small pin calipers with large pin pads, the pads can clack.

I can probably get a picture of how we've fitted our pad spring things tomorrow if you want.

My pads were supplied complete with pins with my refurbed calipers.

The pads came with shims and springs... But what I took off had no springs and I couldn't work out how to fit the new springs.. If you could load a pic or pm me a pic that would be very helpful

Thanks

L

Put some copper grease on the pins and check free flow of the pads. Sometimes they stick.
The system as shon on the exploded vieuw is as on my TR250 and never had your problem.

god luck,
Hans

While I try and get a pic of ours.

Here's a picture from google of how we've got ours on. It's not the exact same caliper or pad, but it gives the idea of how they are supposed to fit. They do squish up quite a bit.

There is another sort of spring that is used too, which is different.

Blimey Thomas - was that disc/caliper found buried in a peat bog! wink

Ours has a different type of clip - pics found on a TR forum. Not the greatest pics but hope it helps.

No idea, just a picture taken from google to show the clips, something in that condition would never get near my Dads car, biggrin
