Sandisk SD problem

Hi all,

Im abroad at the moment, This is my last night tonight.

I've been taking photos through out the trip, the card I'm using us a Sandisk 32gb SD Extreme pro.

All has been fine until I tried to use it this evening, my camera says 'card not formatted' and wanted me to format it with the camera (I said no) I tried it in another camera and it says 'card error' If I've gone over the card limit would it cause this error? If not would the date still be recoverable on computer?

You can try plugging it into a computer and see what happens. I haven't had much luck with SD cards and when an error occurs they are pretty much dead (the same with SSD's).

Hopefully someone else may have another suggestions.

I shall have a look when I'm all back home.

This has certainly made me think not to save all photos on one card. (900 of them) : ( I should have used the second card I bought with me along with the other card.

When I've had cards do this I've used a program called Recuva to rescue them and it's worked every time so. I throw the card away afterwards though as it's not worth risking again with the same card. There is a guy on here (Marshalla?) who is an expect in this so hopefully he'll have more advice.

I shall have a look at that software too. Promising to know it could be recovered. I'll certainly dispose of the card afterwards too.

Switch to another card and wait until you get home, you should be able to recover most of the data using SanDisk recovery software.

I have a 16gb sandisk extreme all installed for the remaining days too : )
