PCM 3 Phone With SIM

I have PCM 3 with Telephone option and it works perfectly with iPhone over Bluetooth.

I was intrigued about putting a SIM in the slot and forwarding my iPhone to the SIM but I can't figure out how to do this or of it is even possible.

If I switch off Bluetooth and insert the SIM, nothing happens. I can only use Find Telephone if Bluetooth is enabled which I don't want enabled for this experiment.

Has anyone configured their telephone to work with a full sized SIM and not Bluetooth?

(I am hoping that if it works the PCM Telephone will use the windscreen antenna which might give better reception than the iPhone's antenna when it's in the centre console.)

hi there, I use a sim in my pcm3 set up, however, it has to be programmed in by a OPC ,. The pcm3 from the end of 2010 do this automatically now.
mine works very well, and saves having to remember to carry a phone with you.

If you purchase the latest Nav update for your system the PCM can be switched between HFP and SAP protocols automatically and allows the use of onboard SIM as well as iPhone connectivity (like the latest cars can)
