Evening all.
Advice please, thinking of buying some Royal Mail shares.
Should i apply to 1 of the 44 intermediary companies or direct from the government.
Would be happier if i knew the share price, but fancy a punt.

New to this and any help would be appreciated.

Depends on what you want to do with the shares really - keep them a while, or attempt to flip them quickly?

if you work for them you can get a allocation of shares up to 10k. (excluding the free shares that they will give)

Thanks
I have just submitted my application directly to the government as i wanted to do it sooner rather than later, but guess i will have to register with a stockbroker in order to sell them on at a later date providing i actually get any.
Have chosen the nominate route rather than holding a physical share certificate which i presume still enables me to sell if wanted pretty quickly.

All depends on allocation and of course the market whether or not i keep them a while or flip them relatively quickly.

Unclear about selling the shares again if purchased directly from government.
I ticked the nomination box rather than a physical paper share cert.
Will i have to pre register with a broker to sell using a nomination process ?

I applied this afternoon and had an instant confirmatory e-mail.

I think I should have applied through a broker due to the cheap selling fees!

I re did it on a PC, it went through to a payment page, then a verified by visa, and finally a page with rough details on the application number, and they said they would send an email.
That appeared a couple of minutes later.

If you are using some Apple product, try a different computer to get it to work.

Interesting, when you say "into" your ISA what does that mean?

I have a stocks and shares ISA.

You invest your ISA allowance into an account and can then use the funds to buy/sell shares.
