Hey

I had my new head unit fitted this morning which has in built hard drive and USB connector so you can just plug in what ever device to listen to music (Not that you would ever want to in this car, but the missus always does) Thought I would post some photos of where we put the USB connector as its fairly clever and nicely hidden away but really easy to use from the drivers seat.

Idea for anyone else who's thought about it

Anyone got a good place (other than door interior handle / pouch) to keep an iPhone 5?

Then I might investigate the USB option.

Sorry, but that looks bodged in to me (the USB port, not the HU)

I agree. Mine runs down the the back of the unit and into the passenger side pouch with a USB stick plugged in

My head unit has Bluetooth and I can stream Iphone music and radio to it.

However I do have a phone holder on my dash and I just connect phone to head unit via the USB on the front of the unit as it charges phone, which is handy for when using Tom Tom on the phone. Also, unit came with mic so I have hands free calling.

It's also a Sony so the std joystick works so I have control of iPhone or iPod music.

I have the higher spec version in my Seat Leon that stores your phone book but you access this from the unit so thought it wasn't worth it in the Noble.

I've got a basic Parrot kit which was £99 on eBay and does everything that you've all said.

I've wondered about somehow integrating a dock into the the centre tunnel. It'd keep your phone secure and connect it & charge it without any unsightly cables.

Of course, I'm glad I didn't now that Apple changed the connectors.

Hey

Must admit I wouldn't mind a unit which uses blue tooth. However this way I can at least plug in a USB stick and conceal it under the carpet out the way.

The head units got to be fairly old actually as I took out my TVR which had a good 3-4 years ago so i don't think they had integrated plug-ins on the front of the face of the units back then. Took it out of storage to replace what was already in there.
