I seem to get more and more calls, emails and lately texts regarding my PPI claim. Now as far as I'm aware I've not had PPI but the wording of these texts suggests I do. I know the whole do it yourself thing but I have no clue who I should be claiming off! So my question is it worth me using one of these companies and seeing where it go's?

We're you ever miss old PPI?

If not stop trying to add to the whole "sue everybody culture" for a quick buck.

Thanks as I said I don't think I've ever had PPI but I was just wondering if it was possible I may have had it and either not known about it or just forgotten about it. I don't want anything I'm not entitled to hence why I've not already made a claim!

I accept that some people pay very little attention to financial agreements they voluntarily sign up to, especially as some companies were quoting loan repayments including PPI, so it is possible that some may have paid PPI without realising it.

You need to write to anyone you have obtained a cedit card or loan from and ask them.

Template letters are easy to find on the interweb.

Beats me why so many people use a company who will charge 25/30% for something that cost nothing, apart from the envelope and stamp,to do themselves. Its also very easy!

Nothing like pistonheads to make you feel a fool! I think the only time I am likely to have had PPI was my first ever credit card. Since then I have always refused even when I was told that I had to have it. However I do wonder if anything I've had had it included without me being told.

It is possible. My CC company started charging me for PPI when I'd never asked for it. I have never in my life taken out any form of insurance other than house/car/travel and life.

My bank insisted that I had agreed to it during a routine call they made to me to discuss my finances. I told that that I have never, and will never buy any financial product over the phone. I went as far as saying that the person who made the call to me had commited fraud.

They looked into it, and decided that ther had been a mistake on their behalf. I suspect I was not the only person this happened to.

I had a loan year ago when I was 18. I am not sure if I had PPI or not. Is it a simple case of phoning my bank and asking? Also, I have a credit card with my bank also. I usually always pay my credit off the same day as I actually use it, however, on the odd occasion that I haven't, I have noticed that 10-£1 has been added onto my statement for insurance cover. I don't remember signing up to this. Is there any point in claiming for the odd £1 here and there?
