Need a tax disc but have no V5c

So I bought a new car last week and I've just remembered that I need to renew the tax. Thing is that the V5c hasnt arrived in my possession yet and obviously I dont have the reminder. Anyone know how I can get a tax disc?

Thanks for that but what if hypothetically you understand, some silly sod accidentally posted it to the DVLA? I dont have anything in my possession to enable me to buy a tax disc and it runs out tomorrow!!

Do you have enough information to renew the tax online? Perhaps it has gone through the system enough to allow that?

If he hasn't got the V5, he won't have the 'serial number' necessary to tax it online.

In future, always photocopy everything before anything is posted. You never know what might get lost in the post and you'd have no V5C number.

You might be able to go down to the local office and do it, but phone them and find out to be sure
