Looking forward to this one. It has always been fairly busy and this year they are planning some drifting demo's as par of the entertainment. We will be having our Mevster demo car wrapped on the stand courtesy of Tim and Rob Exetersigns.co.uk
They will not tell me what colour it is going to be though!
The show is the season finale apart from classic at NEC so don't miss it.

Stuff like this is what spoils the show for me. As ever, the best stuff is out in the car park so naturally half of it is given over to something completely irrelevant like the 'stunt rider' doing a few jumps and tyre burnouts for half an hour twice a day.Meanwhile, with the time of year being what it is, the weather is likely to be somewhat inclement this time of year so it makes sense to use the grass areas up the top to park a low slung kit car on. Can't see me going this year.

How can drifting displays spoil a show? No one is forced to watch. It's entertainment, they have to be outside due to their natur. Stunt riders, drift displays, drag racing or auto test shows give us live action. Last year 2/3rds of the hard surfaced car park was for kit car drivers to display their cars and the other end was for Westfield's rubber burning, a display that has been done many times and good as it is, a change is maybe as good as a rest.Meanwhile, with the time of year being what it is, the weather is likely to be somewhat inclement this time of year so it makes sense to use the grass areas up the top to park a low slung kit car on. Personally I look forward to finding the time to see what all the noise is about outside.

Because it takes up space that could be used to show cars. Tarmac space is limited at Westpoint so I'd rather owners were given the opportunity to use it than someone driving round in circle twice a day. It's unnecessary and rather like the motorcycle 'stunt' show completely irrelevant to a kit car show.Antony Moxey said:

The problem for show organisers is that they have to appeal to as wide a spectrum as possible. Footfall is the key, getting people who are curious,to see something that they will also enjoy makes it easier to break even.Look at how many go and spend huge sums at Carfest North and South, it is an event that appeals to men women and families as it has music food and cars.
Complete Kit Car and Totalkitcar have both put on shows which have more than just static displays to appeal to a wider market.
With the exception of Stoneliegh, the days of a pure "kit car" show have gone.

That would be a fair comment if show attendance was what we would all like it to be. Unfortunately, over the last 3 or 4 years, none of the kit car shows (and I have been to every one as part of my magazine commitment) have been so well attended that space was at a premium.
This is why organisers are turning to other attractions to attract the paying public.
It must be 10 years since I've been there but I'm going Sunday with a couple of mates just for the day out.
It used to be worth a couple of hours at most and as my kit car building days are over......................
Edited to say; and it looks like rain for Sunday.

Will there by chance be any Aeon kit cars there?
It's one I've always fancied seeing.
Also what's the date + time as I'm up north about 3 hours away but have family down there
Unlikely unless one of the, few, owners turns up with one. I don't think Keith and Aeon cars attend shows. It's one I've always fancied seeing.

I'm going to try and pop down on the Sunday. Hopefully in the Countach if i can get the brakes back together this weekend and get the carbs adjusted. Otherwise I'll go down in the normal car just for a nosey!
It's probably also worth pointing out that the weekend after Exeter is the classic car & restoration show at the Bath & West showground which is also worth a look for kit car builders/owners! Especially if Exeter is wet as it still gives us another chance to get out-n-about before winter sets in (positive thinking!!!)
