to remove the original pioneer head unit? Any suggestions please. I have been down local car place and used genuine pioneer slide tools, screw drivers, butter knifes down the side and generally have a good go at getting it out and it wants to stay put!!!

Any suggestions please or pics of what the clips look like that hold the thing in the frame?

Thanks in advance.

Some have a bolt connection in the centre at the rear.

Depending on the model of head unit you have you'll probably need to remove the plastic surround first.

Be gentle with the plastic surround, it should just clip off but it's quite brittle.

Once the surround is off just use the keys and it should pull out easily.

I managed to make enough wriggle room to get to the screws that hold the front panel bit on, the radio is much easier to remove when you can get your whole hand in there biggrin
