I have posted on both Facebook pages and I know this is the modern way but please post a pic or two on here every now and then.
We need to keep this forum interesting or it will gradually fizzle out and new builders will loose a very useful resource.

BTW.
Stig. How about a hint on what you are up to (even if not an Ultima).

My guess would be that he is a building a 7 (probably for his wife) and she wants to have it painted a nice shade of blue..... just a guess
eBay stalker?

You're actually spot on. However, it's a re-build of my wife's Locost. We met racing against each other in the early noughties. I sold my car when we started a family, but we kept hers for sentimental reasons (ahhhhh bless).... It languished in a barn in France for 7 years where it deteriorated accordingly. We brought it back about 2 years ago and I stripped it to bare chassis and rebuilt the engine. Unfortunately, in doing so I effectively filled my garage/workshop so actually working on the car became impractical! I finally got fed up about 6 weeks ago and have been busting my hump since to get it up and running.
The chassis was bare blasted (mostly to check for any cracks after 3 years of racing) then resprayed, front suspension replaced (brackets and arms), all new panelling/bodywork and every nut bolt and washer replaced. It's now at rolling chassis stage and once the new loom/electrics and plumbing is done - it should be good to go!
I'd post pics but it should really be in the Kit Cars section

Sounds as though the only "original" part left will be the driver!!!

Wasn't rocket science

Looking good Matt.
I see you have the pressure sensor for the brake lights. You may want to fit the electric switch on the foot pedal instead as this is more sensitive to pedal movement and gives people behind a little more warning. Easy to do at this stage as you can run a wire back from the engine bay to the pedal area easily.

Some build pics. Inspired by the brilliant AndyGtt Noble thread, I have had a go at making carbon fibre parts using the resin infusion process.
First attempt shown. This part is a reject (it's too thin, and has a couple of blemishes which I can't live with) but I made a right hash of it (running out of resin part way through) and it still turned out not bad - it's just being in such a prominent position I want it to be perfect.
As you can see from the photos, I really need to tidy up the wiring (and the garage more generally....).

And a final pic of the vacuum bag ready for the cill cover:
