Any thoughts on extending the solid fuel lines to make changing the flexible hoses easier?

I replaced the copper lines completely with goodridge hoses front to back, I also sleeved the lines with hi temp proof sleeping at the engine area.

The normal engine vibration caused one of my braided fuel hoses to eventually rub through the fuel line completely (dot 4 on a hot manifold don't half smoke!) so I ended up extending the lines as part of the repair. I can't say that I would go to all that trouble just to save a few minutes on a once every five year job.

I'm sure my solid fuel lines terminate behind the heads on a 99 model?

Why were you trying to run the engine on dot4 brake fluid and not petrol ....biggrin

Personally I wouldn't bother its not like they need doing that often anyway scratchchin I reckon most TVR owners that speak of fuel line failure/s are either on the originals or have had some time in the past inferior quality hose/s fitted frown and trust me being in the motor trade there is plenty of that about eek TVR fitted good quality fuel line hose so go with the branded stuff and you will be safe for years yes

You should have the old style fuel rail John, so the task will be a little different from the majority of experiences on here wink

Remove the plenum & trumpet base to get easier access, and loosen the copper pipe clamps / tie wraps (if they are still there). Be prepared to slit the old pipes with a scalpel rather than skin your knuckles pulling them off ~ after you drain the system (just pull the fuel relay / pump connector & run the engine till it stops).

Hi,
I ripped out all the original copper and flexi fuel lines.
Surprising how brittle the copper lines can get, even though the fuel lines looked ok on the outside one pipe was completely perished on removal.
Replaced the lot with stainless steel pipe 8mm or 5/16.
Ran the pipes up in the engine bay with only a short piece of tubing to connect into the regulator.
Well pleased and no more issues.
