Delonghi Coffee Machine Repair

My beloved coffee machine has died. Well, technically it hasn't died ... It's still working as you'd expect, but rather than have the coffee dispense through the two nozzles on the front, it's filling the spill tray from the inside

I've had a good look inside, made sure there are no blockages or any loose pipes or damaged seals. I can't see anything and I've run out of talent. So I'm thinking it may be best to have it repaired by a professional ...

So a quick question! Can anyone recommend a company who can repair it? It's a Perfecta ESAM 5400. Do you reckon it'll be fairly cheap to sort, or should I start eyeing up a Jura machine now?

Any help or advice is much appreciated! I'm suffering the poor excuse for coffee at work at the moment, so feel my pain!

Sounds like the 3-way solenoid valve is stuck. Have no idea how much it would cost to repair, sorry! Good excuse to buy a new machine though?

Is it possible to see the solenoid by looking inside the machine? Do you think a precise, swift hit might do the trick?

You can probably see the valve if you take the machine apart. google images will point you in the right direction.

You can prevent it from happening in future by 'back flushing' your machine regularly (please make sure your machine does actually have a 3 way solenoid valve before attempting this).

At the risk of stating the obvious, delonghi were very slick when fixing mine

They uplifted, worked out what was wrong, phoned to confirm I wanted to pay for the repair, and had it delivered.

Took about a week
