I'm looking for some decent drivin roads for this Sundays early start to the Goodwood Breakfast Club? I remember coming back for FoS many years ago and stumbled across a nice A road, that seemed to run through a wooded, hilly valley of some sort. But can't for the life of me remember where that was.

So, can anyone advise as to the route I might want to take?

Cheers,

Pete

We usually go down the A286 to Midhurst, but you could do the A285 through Petworth instead.

That sounds like the A286 between Fernhurst and Midhurst?

A3 to Petersfield and then cut across through the village of South Harting on the B2146 and then B2141.

I think you might be thinking about the A285 specifically where is goes thought Duncton. Have a look on Google Earth.

Must be Petersfield to Goodwood route. Coming from Guildford, it'd be a easy route. Fast, twisty at times, up and down. Ace

This route is great and always a low volume of traffic.

This. A3 to Milford, scoot down through Chiddingfold and Petworth.

Great drive, and lunch at The Mulberry on the way back.

Just make sure you arrive at Goodwood by going "over the hill" and leave the A286 at Singleton (left just past the bridge onto Town Lane / Kennel Hill) which takes you past the race course and straight at the circuit. Shorter and well worth the climb...
