I would never replace seals on brakes...life is too precious.

why not - does the metal wear out?Steve
surely it is the rubber seals that perish???
If a cylinder is leaking then in my experience not only will the seals be worn or perished the cylinder itself will also be worn or corroded. The corrosion is not just because water has gotten in it also comes from the dissimilar metals used for the cylinder and piston.
The wear come from the metal piston not just the rubber seals.
Is it worth the risk when your life is at stake?
