Evening all, I have a Dilema... Order a new 2014 Evoque with the 9 speed trans and wait until until next year for delivery... Or buy a 2013 model and get it this month...

Any suggestions on best course of action ... and what incentives I might expect or ask for to go for this years model?

IMHO, wait.

Mrs Digga has an S Auto and it is not particularly frugal. Rumour has it, the new 'box is better matched and is supposedly better on fuel. If there are a few other nips & tucks, then the 2014 model will be more desireable. A late 2013 is likely to bomb on residuals.

I took the plunge and ordered on a 63 reg rather then wait I wanted now life's to short. But as said if fuel consumption and resale values are an issue then I would say hang on for the MY14

Can a few mpg (we're talking pennies here) really make much of an impact on your purchase decision, if so just go buy the cheapest most fuel efficient car on the planet. not sure that more gears is a good thing really, all they do is make the top gear a long one to get past emissions & mpg tests. You may find the new 9 speed has no torque and keeps changing down every 2 mins to get maintain speed and end up constantly changing gear. IMHO, if the 8 speed worksv& you can get a cracking deal then buy now.......just my opinion. smile

Do you have any pointers as to who might do such a deal... Sound interesting

No pointers other than to go into a dealer, explain your dilemma and see if they can put together a package. Probably something along the lines of taking something from stock now (assuming there is anything), with a view to trading it in when the new one is available.

That way, the dealer gets a sale NOW, 2x cars against targets & shift a car from stock. I'm sure they'd rather do something like that rather than have you walk away.
