Agreed, the train should have gone around the cyclist and given them room.

More level crossing stupidity - makes a change from drivers and pedestrians.

In previous eras such people would not have survived to pollute the gene pool...

If folks like that get killed becuase they ignored very blatant warnings of impending doom then I would just deem that to be natural selection!!

If I was that woman I would be taking a long hard look at how it could have gone and take better care next time!

My Dad is a train driver. Luckily he's only had a few near misses, never a fatality. It happens only too often. He knows of one driver who has only worked around 18 months in the last 6 years, because everytime he comes back he gets a fatality.

Sadly if it's not stupid people ignoring the barriers it's more stupid people walking the tracks, or playing chicken. Unfortunately you get an awful lot of suicides too.

It must be horrendous for the drivers.

My Dad has to constantly remind kids playing on the platform that even at 5mph the train won't stop quickly, still has a lot of momentum and will still crush them.

That footage was unbelievable.... How stupid do you have to be to do that? Darwinism failed on that one.

Shame there is no sound otherwise you would be able to hear her shouting at the train for going too fast and not giving way to her.

She obviously confused it with a normal red light on the street.

Now if that WAS a road can you imagine the bigotted comments that would already be on here claiming that the driver should have anticipated that a cyclist might run a light. We all know I am not joking.

Probably got confused as she saw a red light and automatically thought it meant proceed without stopping

Why has she suddenly decided to change her route? She turns around and goes back the way she came.

It's got to be a driver's fault somehow, it always is in threads about cyclists.

Probably shock amid the realisation that she was about an inch from death

Nice endo, but with a couple of front hops and a 360 tail whip and she could have styled that out!

She can thank her sense of hearing kicking in when her common sense let her down!
