Hi all,

A few years ago I heard about some new form of diet, where you lose large amounts of weight simply by confusing your body by varying the food you eat so as to get "different types of calories". No, I'm not sure what this means either, but I wonder of someone knows what I'm describing?
There were companies advertising that, for a fee, would take a list of foods you like, and compile a diet that varied wildly day on day and "confused your metabolism". This was claimed to send metabolic rate into overdrive, and cause you to lose up to a stone a month.
So, do these diets work or is it all bullst?
If they do work, is it possible to plan a generic one without paying some ripoff website for it?

Not much help but you should be able to lose a stone a month (depending on bodyfat/starting weight) anyways smile

Interesting idea but isn't the best way to use your metabolism to lose weight, is to simply raise it by eating and exercising properly?

Why try and confuse it, when it already has the biological processes in place to allow it maximised?

And can you "confuse" the body of an opportunistic hunter-gathering omnivore?

I'd imagine it's easier to confuse the brain of someone who pays for that diet plan, than their body!
