If it's loaded to the hilt with in-app purchases I'll give it a miss. I won't touch any game with these stealthed pay walls.

No idea, but if it's files can be attached to an email then it's no biggie, I've got a 7 month old version.

ETA - for PC.

No obvious signs of that pre-purchase...

So much want, I've killed crap loads of time on this over the years...
Fortunately it seems to be tablet only so I can't play it at work!
Fairly sure I read somewhere that Chris didn't want to go down the in-app purchases route, phew!

If this is on Android I may lose many hours to this.

I still play OpenTTD on my PC

Hmm... mixed feelings. Been playing for a little under an hour and started with the basic scenarios as the controls are a bit different.

I'm finding the controls a touch awkward (on the iPad - so I wouldn't bother on the iPhone at all). For example, trying to place a station was a bit difficult. Added to which the laying of track or road is click based having selected a direction, rather than the old click and drag from the PC days.

There are some new tracks (curves and S bends) so clearly some things have been brought up to date.

Perhaps to expect to relive my youth was a bit too much, but I am a touch disappointed. It feels a bit laboured, but I'll keep at it for a few days.

No sign of in app purchases, thankfully, but it does feel a bit steep at £4.99.

Played for about 3 hours in total now and getting more into it. Still no in app nonsense and warming to the control format.

Strangely no engine sheds or servicing yet - wonder if that's because I started at the basic level?

Crashes loads on my Iphone 5, essentially unplayable at present.

Cant find it on Android play store, although judging by comments above this could be a good thing?

TTD is the reason I had no idea the Twin Towers had fallen, until around 6 hours after it happened.

I'm warming to it. The original playability is there, I just found the UI a bit awkward initially. When you consider it has to be ported for a different way of working (no mouse) it's hardly surprising.

After initial disappointment I found myself playing it at 23:30 last night...
