Getting started
Discussion
I've always thought I was unfit, so I've decided to do something about it & joined a gym a couple of weeks ago - helpfully a mate goes to the same gym so I have him as guidance/advice.
I had no idea that I was *that* bad, but it turns out that my strength is pretty much none existent & cardio is embarrassingly pathetic.
I'm 26, 6ft 2 & in the region of 18 stone. I'm aiming to (eventually!!) get down to around 16 stone, be able to benchpress 100kg (Currently struggling to do 3x10 sets of 20kg) & generally look half decent.
Please tell me it gets easier, as every time I go to the gym it hurts like a b
d & makes me feel quite crap!
How do you stay motivated?

After I do weights based stuff, I hurt for a couple of days but it feels alright.
Last night I did some cardio (10 mins on a spinning bike being shouted at by some bint on the tv screen infront of it, 1000m on rowing machine, then a few other bits), After rowing 1000m in 4 mins I was dying on my arse, took me absolutely ages to catch my breath and my pulse was going mental, which then meant I struggled to do anything else - I'm hoping that gets better!
