LSD on a GTS 2 - worth it?

When the warranty is up on my 997 GTS 2 I was thinking of getting a Wavetrac LSD fitted. However, as someone not intending to do track days (used to, can't be bothered now), is it really worth the expense? How noticeable is the lack of one when pressing on? Is the feel of the car likely to be very different and how much faster will I be able to go, given that public roads are not race tracks?

If you could find someone with a standard car that hasnt got the lsd fitted, you could ask them if they suffer from lack of traction.

Well that includes me and is rather what prompted me to ask the question. My previous car was a Cayman R (with LSD) and the one before that a Caterham R300 (with LSD). The GTS doesn't seem to lack in terms of traction, but a 911 (with great fat rear tyres with lots of weight over them) is so different I find it difficult to make a meaningful comparison.
