Mine screach, scape and judder but just about give a clearer view than when theyre off. Had fresh application of RainX as well yesterday. Blades are only 3 months. I presume its a case of "they all do that Sir".

My Fiat 500 had more effective windscreen wipers (a few years ago now!). Why cant our tivs have some rubber that works?

could easily be the blades even if 3mths old. Try cleaning then carefully with meths - might remove tree sap, other crap etc. Lubricate the wiper arm to make sure it is applying the correct pressure, also check the rest of the mechanism under the bonnet. If you've tried all that finally get some new blades, if they're still rubbish I'm stumped!

good point that - if they dont touch the curve over the whole length for the full sweep it's a MOT failure (if they spot it)

Something that i've noticed with Rain Ex is that it picks up road dust & grime easily and seems to smear quite quickly..bit of a pain in the arse realy..

I saw in the U.S a few years back a r&d project that used sonic vibrations slightly higher than the cars own to repel water off the screen. It worked too and did away with dodgy old wipers!.. I wonder where that went?..

You need to really deep-clean the windscreen before applying it. Only then does it not smear, I've found.

There's enough sonic vibrations in a TVR already!

I saw an ad for a new polish type thingy made by Teflon. it supposidy works by making the car "non-stick" just like the frying pans. Not sure if its any good though either on bodywork or if it can be used on windscreens.

Bit of a pointless reply really
