Not heard of it but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist somewhere.

The thing with the Elise is it's designed for handling rather than outright speed and I know a guy with a NOS Cerbera (cerber450 on PH) and he can only use it on dead straight bits of road which are not the Elises raison d'etre and probably the reason it hasn't been tried.

I'm not sure how the K series would take to NOS either as I don't know what effect it would have on the engine internals, thinking high temps inducing HGF here.

You wouldn't need very big jets to get a big grin though as the car is light.

you could probably add a 40bhp shot safely...but why bother - 160bhp in an Elise dosent feel like a rocket...and you can have 160bhp all the time for a £1500 upgrade.........

Only asked because Wizards of Nos have kits that could easily add that gain for about £400. Anyway how small the boot is you would have to have the NoS bottle on your lap!!

I agree with you Bogie.

The thing is, you have to pay about £100 to refill the bottels, i'm led to believe that the bottle that looks slightly smaller than a 2 litre Lemonade will last 4 1/2 minutes...... So people only tend to run it for a few seconds a time to overtake stuff......

I'd rather have some engine work done for a grand or two and not have to worry about refills or switching it on/off.

I think a bottle is only about £15 to fill. Anyway I agree with you all, just wondered if it has every been done thats all. 200 bhp increase from a large ported NoS kit on an Elise would be fun (though only in a straight line!!!)

There was a wonderful pitched battle between the 'wizard of nos', and a couple of Elise engine builders/tuners about whether you could safely use NoS in a k series. The engine builders suggested that it would require all the strengthening and mods that a permanent upgrade would require to be safe, so what was the point. They were arguing about the BMEP force on the pistons or something. It all went beyond my level of knowledge, although the 'wizard of nos' did manage to come across as a conceited & egostistical chap, who was very conceivably a big fish in a very small sea, and not actually that knowledgeable, mostly specialising in impressing nova boys who didn't know better. Just my reading of the situation

It'll go bang very quickly, the engines are brittle enough standard, the head gasket will probably laugh itself to pieces the at the first whiff of the stuff.
