Perfect cheers guys. How did you fix them in place? Just some sort of 3m tape or something?

Since they are clearly not street legal very possibly. Depends on the police attitude. These examples are very clear and uncluttered. The fines are minimal many just ignore the problem. But the plates do not comply in a number of ways. Loads of info on PH on what is street legal.

Not street legal in that form. You may never get pulled but I try to reduce the odds my driving is sufficiently challenging to manage that. In itself!

By law the letters have to be 79mm in size. but in that location the whole plate can only be around 76mm

As long as numbers letters at the regulated size u can make plate as small or as large as u want. My letters are standard size just a cut back plate.

Jag oversized there plates on s type. But numbers were set size.

Please excuse previous post not making much sense. Auto correct plus my borderline retardness are not a good mix

I may be wrong. But fk it. It looks good there helps with cooling. N at the end of the day. Who is a random traffic cop to say it's not standard fit n size.
Technically most alfas are not street legal due to front plate to the side.
But it's factory fit.
So I think us nobs r problem ok.

There is a minimum size requirement for the plates, as their is a legal requirement to have a quoted minimum of border around the letters etc .
The size, font of the letters and their spacing all are regulated too.
The plate can be bigger.
As for the placing, it can be anywhere on the front pretty much as long as it is clearly visible and as close to vertical as possible.
I'm not sure about the rear placing but would imagine it follows the same rules as the front.

I've been pulled and had this explained in depth a few times over the years and paid for the privilege....

Not a great picture, and definitely not 100% legal, but mine is a reflective stick on number plate on the rear bumper.

Thanks

Just posted a pic if mine, it's a full plate as I made a recess in the clam.

I'm guessing it could be possible to use my large mould to just make the recess in carbon which could then be fitted to a stock clam to be fully road legal :-)
