GT3 dip stick ??

Having the GT3 996.2 MOT'd.
Tester comes out and tells me it has no oil.
He's holding a dip stick, about 300 mm long.
I tell him its fine, as the computer says full.
I didn't think the GT3 had a dip stick?

engine must be up to temp and running to use dip stick

why is MOT tester looking at oil level, clearly they have no idea about the vehicle.

Engine running and hot to read dipstick.

Last minute thing, went to buy tax this morning, and realised MOT expired

still not sure why they would even open engine bay let alone start looking at oil level etc.

Said it needs revving for the omissions ? So wanted to check oil.
I thought that was just for the Diesel smoke test?
Now he wants to take off the brake cooling ducts to inspect the brakes

rubbish, unheard of, they don't in any way affect visual inspection, as said next will be the test drive

you got front splitter on ?? could be issue for brake test rollers machine, my mot guy has a portable g force meter places in pax floor, drive forward and hit brakes it locks at highest g force reading.

You are right, he's worried about the drop down into the rollers, even though I don't have the splitter. So yes a little test drive just outside on the industrial estate, but all within eye sight if me

The MOT tester should really have know to road test it anyway because of the LSD not playing well with the brake test rollers!

They are not allowed to dismantle to test or check anything ie airducts or removing wheels.

Computer normally has a warning for LSD equipped cars to road test instead, doesn't it ?

With my MOT guys, I book the GT3 in and I go out for a spirited drive on my way to the testing station arriving with everything nice and warm. The first thing they do the exhaust test and the car only ever needs to be running on tick over. Job done

As for removing the brake ducts that's nonsense

Passed no advisories.
Was a panic though, went to pay for tax online, realised MOT ran out in July
All set now for the BIG Porsche 911-50 event at Goodwood tomorrow, all in aid of Chestnut Tree House Children's Hospice.
