In my experience, and it is only limited to me so a sample of one, they normally look clear within a week or two, but it's helpful to use the cream for a bit longer.
However, they can keep recurring if you don't remove the conditions that allowed the fungus to germinate in the first place, so that's drying your skin properly etc.

)As for the cause, I had a nasty cut on my hand last week after catching it on a subframe so that could be it.
