Blasted deer hit me!
Discussion
I had a deer jump out on me the other night. not that close, about a second or two. Definately would not want to hit that in the Griff. I think it would demolish the whole top as the bonnet would scoop it up.
I thought the cerbie, too would scoop it up. Lucky it was knocked away.

My wife has a penchant for deer. She hit one in her old little Saxo, got it repaired and a few weeks later one jumps out the hedge right on her bonet, but luckily didnt try to get in the seat.
Then earlier this year she hit one in the Picasso. To be fair, I was with her and having seen one already we slowed right down then the silly
ran at full tilt into the side of the car
Managed to push most of the dent out myself, can hardly see it (mental note to myself, dont try and sell the Picasso on PH come January, now they know that
)

By the way, if it had antlers you could have them mounted onto the new bonnet- would almost certainly get you onto the front cover of Sprint, plus you should have a sticker on the side of the car like Spitfire fighter aces claiming their kills.
Have a safe trip to the Dive Show and look forward to meeting up in due course.

I'll take a couple of pickies tomorrow morning and pst them on here.
Only snag at present iS how the hell I am getting to Birmingham! Meant to be leaving here tomorrow at 10.00am.
Anyone want to lend me their Cerbera?! I wont hit anything - honest!
Anyway if you are on th A264 heading out of East Grinstead towards T Wells there's a nice freshly slaughtered deer on the right had side on the bend just past the turning to Ashurst Wood. I like venison but apparently as the murderer of the beast I am not allowed to take it home, but any of you are!

Same here. Well, not the other night but last year! It's happened a few times. And one also has to try and dodge the foxes, badgers, rabbits and pheasants. You'd be surprised at how much damage a pheasant can cause to the front of a car

I've had quite a few old dears jump out at me lately.
diddyman, sorry to hear that (bit of an extreme way to get the insurance company to pay for a front-end respray). I've hit two over the years, one did in the front of a Fiesta and the other one of the Alfas, denting every front panel apart from one wing. As I live near Thetford Forest, see the bl**dy things all the time.
A word of warning to all - if you see one run across the road in front of your car far enough ahead to do so, slam on the brakes immediately. Females tend to travel in groups of three to ten and if you're still moving, one of the others can end up as a mascot. ALWAYS BRAKE, don't assume it's on it's own. Saved me a few times.
Keeps you on your toes.

One day, I was driving along, mid morning. Fox streaks across the road in front of me. Slow down. He disappears into the woods. Pack of Fox Hounds cross the road. I hit one. Assorted people on horses gallop across the road.
Just a few yards up the road are parked all their horseboxes etc. I stop to inform someone that I have hit one of the dogs, purely out of concern for the animal. No damage to my car but there is blood on my bumper. All I get is concern that I am going to take legal action for damage to my car!

I hit number 2 of possibly more. It was hlf a length behind number 1. No way I could avoid it. Leaped into the road about 4ft in front of me. We have hundreds of deer around (Ashdown Forest) here so am aware of what they do, but if they lemming at you with no time to react not much you can do. Suppose I must be grateful that it was its legs that hit the car and not its body. Could have done a lot more damage...
