I have just been invited via an email from Aston Martin to view their latest News letter, great, lets have a butchers. Went to read the latest offerings from 'Q',,,,,,,errr, what,,,as the Princess said to the toad " I don't feckin think so". furious

Here is what they are saying:

"In addition Q by Aston Martin allows you to create a personalised interior finish by adding your unique embroidery, this can even be replicated on bespoke luggage.

Designing a one off always captures the imagination, it is exciting and engaging. Through the Q by Aston Martin 'By Appointment' design service, we aim to capture your imagination and instill this into a car that connects with you in a very special way.

The diverse Q by Aston Martin team can meet with you to help design, engineer and manufacture your one off commissioned car".

Sorry to moan guys but I tried my absolute best to use this service, other than a rediculous quote of £4999 to paint the grille black, Q refused every single request I made, including embroidery. So reading that absolute tosh did rather provoke me. moan

I must add, Bamford Rose are currently not only completing all the enhancements Q refused but are adding yet more personalised enhancements. BR you are a g*d send. bow

it seems Q are for the Aston owners who are viewed as the double cream club.

It was just too much for me this morning Ed, talk about rub my nose in it. mad

The trend you refer to I assume was my attempt to have created for 'all' forum members a 'satisfaction' survey.

Posts like mine this morning are a typical example of the need for that survey. Two things I hope are true, first that the rumours we read on here telling us that AM do indeed read our posts and two, they will react positively to our comments. I am a born optimist by the way. rolleyes

Well if they do read these posts it would be nice if some one would pop up and say so from an AM point of view.

I understand that a negative trend is currently apparent but they only have themselves to blame, look at me as loyal
and enthusiastic as you like but all I've received is grief a poor customer service experience and a bloody great hole
in my bank account.

All that said I love Aston Martin and as we know love can be cruel sometimes, but its the way we make up is important.

So hopefully somebody is listening at Gaydon cus I'm in need of some serious pampering and frankly from conversations
and e-mails I receive I'm not alone in the world of current neglect.

Never mind I'm upbeat as ever and will give some serious thought to my next projected event titled a Luv in at Gaydon.....hehe

Thats the spirit Ed, blue skies. Even if AM don't get it right all of the time, its still one hell of a club to belong to. biggrin

Is 'avinalaugh' employed by AML ?

If the colour was matt black, then you do not even need to be an experienced paint sprayer, to do that job.

Matt paint is an absolute doddle, for anyone to achieve a good result.

I expect a body shop might paint the whole car for £5,000.

Satin black powder coated is what I asked for, took Q almost a month to agree but only at that rediculous price. BR are fitting a carbon Vanquish grille as we speak, sorted.

George thank you for your concern but that won't happen I promise you. When I post the pics of the finished article, I'll look for your reaction then.

See attached the grille I am talking about, its not a c/f grille, its carbon black.

£5000 to powder coat a grill !!??!! No - surely not ? It's only about £50 - £60 to have a wheel powder coated. You could do 100 wheels for that !

That looks great Bob as I am sure your car will look .
However poor George might be having a mental breakdown seeing all that carbon fibre AND the 007 plate. thumbup

Cosmetic enhancement for me has to be subtle, to that extent I'm with George. The c/f changes to Vesuvius are not 'in your face' stuff, more to do with tones that work - work better for instance than the Halfords bonnet vents that AM fitted to my Aston Martin DB9.2 car!

I got in my V8V I ordered about 2 months ago. I too had a dreary experience with the Q program in that they turned down several things I wanted to do and had a ridiculous price on one they did approve and each request took up to 4 weeks to get an answer on. Their one shining moment was when they said they would put the V12 sills on my car for $1100 which I snapped up before they had a chance to change their mind.

Almost a carbon copy of my experience then, the exception being the price for your sills was 'reasonable', whereas the price to paint my grille was absurd and insulting.

Q could be a fantastically successful department, it needs someone to oversee the whole operation, essentially join up all the dots, highlight the weaknesses and deal with them. First on the agenda I suggest, moderate the advertising hyperbole to match what they are willing/capable of delivering.

Alternatively, contact BR and just watch the loveliness flow. yes
