Thanks, yes my old R500 had the Quaife Sequential Gearbox, but this one is just a standard Caterham 6 Speed box, better for most road trips!!

Brilliant, my little boy loves a nice drive too, he's only 2 and we play the 'ready, steady...GO!' game where i have to accelerate hard, he trys to hold his head forward and gives proper belly laughs.

I am getting lots of comments on the beard, but why the hatred?

I am loving it personally, but its a very personal thing, oh well its mine and i love it.!!

Just teasing. Might pluck up the courage to do movember this year. A beard would keep me walmer in the 7 as well.

Nice video by the way. My 8 and 5 year olds love mine. The problem is the arguments when they both want to go out at the same time.

Keep posting the videos!

thanks Huw, i was only joking too!!

I know what you mean, Tom and Lucy still fight over who can go in the R500, mostly though Lucy thinks its too noisy, so Tom gets to go for a trip most times we go out!!

Your right of course, we actually forgot his booster seat for that trip, that usually lifts him up enough to make the top belts tight.

It was time to change, my previous white R500 was one of the very first cars produced. As a kit which I built myself, that meant I sold it for only £500 less that's I paid for it after 3 years.

Also the Quaife sequential gearbox was just too noisy for a road car, and we also wanted the more comfy leather seats too!

Wow, 500 in 3 years, not many other "sportscars" offer depreciation proof motoring, maybe thats a sign that they may appreciate at some point?...

Loving the vids by the way!

Thanks , and yes All of my Caterhams have been the cheapest ownership of all the cars I have owned, but they do not get used that much too, perhaps that's why the residuals have been so good!
