not seen a spider as interesting as this one in the UK before, seems a shame to dispose of it so might just leave it in the shed to live in piece.I would vote for a false widow as well, they seem to be popping up all over the place, unfortunately for me. I believe there was a sighting that made it into the papers in Surrey a couple of weeks back, in Stoneleigh it seems.

I watched a documentary 15 years ago on spiders (called arachnophobia I believe), in which they followed a mother spider which was/or had just given birth... Boy it escalated quickly!
This is where the term 'kill it with fire' is appropriate.
