New Cayman Stone Chip Damage Rear Wheelarch

After a month of qwnership and about 1200 miles, I've noticed damage to the paintwork on the lower rear of the rear wheelarches, caused by road debris being thrown up by the rear tyres. See photo for position. It's vulnerable there because of the way the bodywork curves inboard of the tyres. I would like to protect the area in some way, because it's only going to get worse. Ideally, it needs some kind of protective moulding, not a mudflap obviously, but something small and discreet. Has anyone sourced anything like that ever? Any other ideas?

I had this on my Spyder. My solution was to buy some Ventureshield 3M film. I then made some paper templates and used these to cut the film with a surgical blade. You then apply in the normal way, I should point out that i have used this film on several other cars so I'm used to using it, however a small amount of practise will help. If you do mess it up you can peel off the film without doing any damage. Oh forgot to mention, it did work and has stopped the road rash

Buy a touch up paint pen for about a tenner?

When lying on the floor painting it will look crap. Stand up, job done.

Mine has same damage but far worse on near side wheel arch.
Not sure about the venture film now as surface is so rough from stone strikes, it must be a plastic part as no sign of metal through marks.
Was wondering about best solution.

Other week came on a section of road that had just been treated with new stone clippings, never mind the 20mph limit I was driving at 10mph and wincing as I could hear the stones flying up but it was no worse than before.
Not that I am suggesting that as permanent solution.

i work for a company that design & manufacture trailers, will be having a word with vinyl guys to cut some heavy duty pieces, for my black 987. have front & rear grave rash. use to have a similar problem on my Elise.

Do any Porsche dealerships arrange paintwork film coverings prior to customers picking up new cars?.. Something I would look at for my new order..
