TVR Vixen MK1 Pictures

This car gets better and better every time I see her.
Recent bonnet re spray and new head lining and some new trim bits replaced although no expert I think she is very much original although maybe those who know otherwise might point out here whats not to help those aiming for an OE restoration.
I trust this will be of help to those rebuilding cars from boxes of parts;

Cheers Andrew that really is very useful.

I can already see he has different hinges to me. His are similar to the 1800S, whilst mine seem to be the same as later Vixens (ie Anglia ones). He also has the filler cap variation built into the hose, which at least one other S1 owner has mentioned

What colour is it? Reason for asking is my car was Silver Fox when new and I was considering returning it to original but havent seen one that colour yet.

I think the engine bay is where he is going to tidy up a little next however he likes the patina look and I must say surprise surprise in this case so do I the car has from what I can see never been fully restored but just maintained and refreshed over time a car is only unrestored once in its life and some cars wear the age well and Richards certainly does.

Hinges are 1800S,
What chassis number is the car? I had assumed that All Vixen S1 on adopted the Pop hinge but there may be some transition as was usual at the time.
Its also missing front indicators I think.

Engine (chassis) mounts also look to be different to std x-flow vixen which may also point to this car being a v early 1800s made into a Vixen S1 at the factory.

Its a TVR Neil, they didn,t change the hinges on the same day they changed the engine. In fact they didn,t change the engine on all Vixen S1,s, some still had MGB engines but were sold as Vixens.
The engine mounts look correct for a series 1, you are probably confusing them with S2,s which of course were different because they had a different chassis.
It looks to have front indicators to me unless you mean the side markers. Series 1 Vixens never had side markers, in fact nor did "sausage" bonnet S2,s. The exceptions of course being the ones that did.

Well all Richard Knows on the colour is that its an Aston Martin Silver i guess the body shop that did the recent bonnet repair and spray colour matched it.
The Chassis no is VX133F looking on the Vixen register its next in line car has led a far different life.

In Talking to Richard she was originally red like yours I think they must have had a cheap supply of red paint up there so has had a colour change however still bonded to chassis and no evidence of a full restoration.
Maybe yours went to a foster home and his was spoilt and pampered?? but you will get there it will be worth the effort
