Chester Stag Do - Where's Good?

Looking at arranging a stag do in Chester, a Friday and Saturday night.
Where is good to go for eating, drinking? We aren't going to be a rowdy bunch so Yates's, Wetherspoon are not something we are planning on doing,
Food we are quite easy on type, would be good to have a sit-down meal one night where we can stay late if that's our preference.
All suggestions much appreciated.

Hi Mozza, for drinking I would probably recommend Church, Havanas, Amber Lounge. These are all bars and are open late. Places for the local trendies would be Cruise and Oddfellows, Cruise is more a club where people don't tend to head to until late. There are two decent cocktail bars, Red Door and Kuckoo, they have decent atmospheres but are pricey - especially Red Door.
For eating, there is a really good Indian called Barton Rouge - the food is excellent (ate there last night) and there is a bar called Harkers across the street for before/after. Siam, a Japanese teppanyaki and Thai restaurant, I can thoroughly recommend the Japanese, great food and good atmosphere with the tables sat round a chef preparing the food in front of you. Bellyful is a Caribbean restaurant, which also has a decent bar downstairs. Upstairs At The Grill, is a steakhouse which has an excellent reputation but I haven't been there myself yet.
Quite a few other bars and restaurants including chains like Blackhouse Grill, Zizzi, Picolino etc.

Was in the new one they've not long opened in West Kirby the other night. Had the XXXL burger or whatever it's called. Was bloody lovely. I asked the waitress about the wings you need to sign a medical waiver for. Apparently they're not doing them anymore because someone went in completely pissed up having not eaten all day, been egged on by their mates and they ate the lot but ended up in hospital!I did try some of the 100% Pain and Ass in The Tub hot sauces. I would say they're both pretty accurate.
Yeah the XXXL burger is ace, although I probably lost man points because I had to dismantle it slightly to fit it in my mouth. I had heard about the homicide wings challenge, you get a pair of gloves to wear while eating them apparently! My mate will be gutted if they've stopped doing it - he wanted to give it a go next time we're there.

I do all the above...(except food) in fact I'll be doing it again tomorrow...Always start in the Bear which is just down from Oddfellows. Nice pub.
Evening all. Found this, I'm looking for inspiration for exactly the same thing at the start of March (8th). Drinks and eating aside, what stag do activities are close? Is there a decent karting track nearby? Or has anyone tried the GoApe?
Looking for a decent, borderline classy event for a bunch of 20-something year olds (the whole spectrum), lads who are quick to claim to be hooligans but deep down enjoy being civilised.

There is a karting track in Sandycroft about 8 ish miles from city centre but I believe the one in Warrington is better. I have been on a stag day to Catton Hall in Frodsham about 15-20 mins away http://www.cattonhall.co.uk. They do a range of activities including shooting, we did quad biking, archery and paintball and enjoyed it. Haven't tried Go Ape as I'm a big wimp and don't like heights, I've heard decent things about it though. Hope this helps.
