My wife was planning on getting me a sports exhaust for my birthday in November. I am sure I had the TVR Power one before, and I loved the noise on the overrun. I think it was this one:
http://www.tvrpower.co.uk/store/slug/sports-exhaus...

But I am sure it was nearer £300 when I had it fitted the last time (has the price really risen by 100% in 7 years)?

She asked about this cheaper one:
http://www.tvrpower.co.uk/store/slug/tamora-sports...

But I am not sure.

I want the pops, crackles and bangs back, which will do the trick?

Cheers smile

The top one will give you all the pops and bangs you will ever need hehe

Running one on my tam still with cats in place - sounds awesome

It's the 2 bean cans in the first link, the Blueflame in the second link is much quieter.

I fitted the two bean cans version last month, takes a few mins to warm up but when it does it sounds great! Lots of pops and bangs particularly when you down shift using the engine to do some of the braking!

I'm wanting ASBO loud, so gonna fit the de-cat pipes as well real soon.

I fitted my exhaust in about 40 mins in the garage, real easy job, just make sure you have some fresh clamps.

Best of luck!

That'll do it, I've got the ACT version, depending on conditions it'll give you between 125 and 130 dB, it's not big or clever, but will make you laugh out loud.

Cheers - yeas, I am sure the had the two separate exhausts, I don't even recognise the Blue Flame version - but, the price of the Blue Flame used to be the price of the proper separate exhausts. I've been away too long....

For me, the sports exhausts alone were perfect, I think a decat would be too noisy for me, but am thinking about the sports cats (another £900!)

Another vote for the Power Sports exhaust, which are identical to the Racing Green spec which might be a little cheaper??
Decat far to tinny compared to Sports only IMO, don`t waste 900 notes on "sports cats" either you won`t need them.

OT did you ever get a proper live remap on the Trophy? There was 180 brake in that set up.

If you ever want sun visors for the Tam, nick them from the F, that`s what i didbiggrin

I have heard a few decatted exhausts on You Tube, and for me, the cars sound a little OTT. I mentioned sports cats because I am assuming the original cats may need replacing at some point, and the original cats are as expensive, aren't they? (I am not getting the cheap chav tat replicas from EBay...)

I didn't have the Trophy remapped again. I have bought all the stuff to upgrade it further, and will go for the live remap once it is installed, but TBH, it is running perfectly now and spending another few £k just to eek out another 10bhp seemed a tad silly - so I have left it until the time comes when the engine may need attention. It was at that point when I started saving for a Tamora instead...

To be honest Chris i`ve never heard of many Cat problems, its not something that concerns me, ok mine has only done 29k, but no signs of problems.
Also, my speedo has stopped working intermittently for the past 7 years and 2 sensors, mine is a wiring fault by the looks of things.I just live with it now,and use my RoadAngel as a back up speedo if it throws a wobbly
biggrin

Ah, Cheers, I'll ignore the cats then. We drove the Tam today (wife drove it back home and loved it!) and the speedo was fine. I do need another Road Angel, though - I gave mine away when I sold my first Tam, idiot!

Excellent idea! I may buy some new ones and fit them - did you just screw them into the top frame using self tapping screws?

I have a custom full system still from my old 4.5 tamora, it has decats but if you want cats you will need the sag or Tuscan s ones, it's in the uk so if you want to look at it you will have to go to Mirfield West Yorkshire. I'm not back in the uk until Xmas. Will make your tam sound more like a v8 without being excessive on db's, made the tam breathe much better and gave a good bhp improvement over standard mid pipes and blue flame back box, still get pops and bangs on the overrun, I should have done a vid with it on but sold the car shortly after it was made. Cost me £900 will accept £650

Exactly the same setup as mine. I've also had mine described as 'awesome' - by a Griff driver!

Thank you for the offer, much appreciated. Not sure I could justify the extra spending for another two new cats, though. frown

Likewise - mine was much cheaper. Price of steel has gone through the roof; perhaps it's trickled down to this level?

It passed the MOT with the decats on but it did have mappable Syvecs ECU, switched to "Economy" it just scraped through. or as you said earlier put the Sports cats on they do them the larger size as well as normal.
