Hi all i must say I'm very new to the brand of Aston Martin and thought i would take a time out and travel down to Broughton Castle event, WOW what a day wonderful collection of fine art even the girlfriend found this FUN, i must say there were a lot of passionate people there today very cool/ good to see. i got talking to the works chaps, blooming hell do those guys know there stuff, spoke to the chap who works in the sales department, i dint think i have met a more passionate sales chap ever, he knew his stuff, not sure if everything he said was true mind"he mentioned he used to work on them from painting Vanquish right through to retail" but he seemed most pleasant forgot his name, i did not realise they sell direct from the Works, if i had known this i would have got from there instead, the service chaps also knew their stuff, seems the place to go for me in future, anybody have any feedback about the Works, for me best car today was the Red Xpack Volante (one day)

All in all a very nice way to spend the day,

Welcome to the Merry Go Round.

Pleased you enjoyed today's event, indeed it was very nice and all the better for the lovely weather.

The Guy you spoke to was Simon Stanton and what he told you was correct as he's worked his way
from the Paint Shop via Factory Tours to the Works Service Sales Department.

He did paint the Vanq's and probably his modesty prevailed and he omitted to tell you about the 007
car he prepared for filming, can't remember which film sorry.

An all round good chap and a testimony to hard work and commitment within AM.

Didn't Works get sold off so its not actually owned by AM anymore?

I also thought that it now operated as an independent company.

+1 about Simon - Top bloke yes

Re works ownership, I believe - correct me if I'm wrong - its 100% owned by one of the major middle eastern investors in Gaydon thus making it as near a 'factory outlet' as can be. But I stand to be corrected biggrin

Would this be Simon, perhaps?

The reason I ask is that I have signatures of those who worked on my car and photos of the car on the assembly line, but I have no way to match the faces to the names. I'd love to have someone look thru the names/photos and see if there are any matches (I know which one is Dr. Bez ... wink )

Nope, don't know who he is but he is not the now famous/infamous Simon Stanton (who, incidentally, is a very nice man wink)

well i must say this world of Aston Martin seems jolly good fun compared to the few owners clubs i have been part of over many years, i hope i havent got the guys in trouble on the works stand, i must confess there seems to be a family feel to the aston ownership, i would like to stay on here for longer but have got lots of meetings and travelling tomorrow,

I will dip in over the next few days

Which part of the assembly line was Dr. Bez working on?
When your car was built, perhaps it was Undercover Boss week. Although if you know which one he is, then his disguise must have been poor.

Dr. Bez might be able to put names to photos for you next year.
I hear that he could have more time.

Am I the only one confused. Topic starts talking about Works Service, (Newport Pagnell yes), but all the DB9s have been built at Gaydon.

Why is it every few months we get a brand new poster, who isn't an Aston owner pop up, singing the praises of Works?... strange
