Best Alternator?

Mine's started grumbling when running. Don't want a poor quality jobbie & don't want to pay over the odds either. What's the best make to fit?

Its a Serp then? Magneti Marelli type A127IM-100 is the OE fitted unit also branded has a Lucas part IIRC often come up on Ebay for sill money compared to the 350+ that the LR dealers want was you at the Leeds Castle car show for 'Help The Heroes' recently?

Somebody should deal with these castles under the Trades Descriptions Act. Leeds Castle is nowhere near Leeds; Bolton Castle is nowhere near Bolton; etc etc...

There's a company near Cadwell Park that sells the LR Original Equipment Magnetti Marelli alternators, complete with LR labels, for just over 100 delivered (80 plus VAT plus delivery). They are called Hobson Industries, their work involves armour plating Land Rovers for the military, which involves them with fitting upgraded alternators, so they have the effectively new (they call them refurbished) correct alternators for sale.
