Porsche Museum.

I'm going to Stuttgart on a stag do this weekend, and thought as we're there it would be silly not to try and get to the factory/museum. Just to have a few hours off the beer of course! Do I need to pre book or can you turn up and pay to get in? Cheers.

Closed on Mondays (just in case you're still there then). If you own a 911 and take the registration docs with you you can get in for free if you ask nicely; apparently there's some kind of birthday celebration on this year.

Ask for the English audio guide at reception, its excellent!

There is a train station outside the museum, so it can easily reached if not within walking distance.

It is. Was there in June and my PCGB membership got two of us in for free.

Yes, any Official Porsche Club card gets you in at half price, and it does close Mondays as do all German Museums. And if it's your own Birthday and you prove it the Porsche Museum is free on the day !

Sorry, another question while we're on the subject. How long do you reckon It will take to get round. I know it depends on how long you spend at each part, just a ball park idea. Cheers

Three or four hours. You can eat and/or drink there too.

Its like anything, you could do the whole place in under an hour if you are just looking around and snapping photos!

I am a bit anal about these places and want to read/listen to everything that I can. So the whole experience took me about 5 hours and even then I didn't do everything or even get close to eating at the restaurant!

I don't know if its changed in the last few years. But when I was last there, at the very end there was a whole section about how they design, develop and build the latest cars which I just skirted over. I was just too full of info and data at that point...

I will go back again!

It took me 2h to see everything in the Porsche Museum, it's not very big. Mercedes one is totally different thing and if you go there and want to read everything it may take 1 whole day.

I did end up visiting the museum and gotta say it was an absolutely stunning place. A proper porsche fans dream. Too many pics to post but here's a few.

nice pics I am thinking about a road trip next year with the museum and nurburgring in mind I am now looking forward to it
