It looks impossible but -

Has anyone replaced the forward flowing systems on the Chim and Griff,
so getting rid of Y piece and cats etc from the engine bay, with systems which feed out
to the rear ?

I'm sure you can't as it would have been done before.

If it can be done it would probably cost over 1.5K at least because of specialist manifold fabrication.

Is there even room to run it another way? Very tight space wise between the engine and the chassis, tvr chose they way they did for a reason.

I'd imagine the main reason it was done this way was to get the engine as far back as possible. Dosen't the Cerb exhaust exit back? They obviously got around the problem when fitting the AJP in the chassis.

Different engine in a different chassis,not really comparable, look at the clearance issues,I can't see it any other way .

maybe with special manifolds? it would be possible...
sharp angle follow the engine/block a bit downwards perhaps 2x 2 to 1 per side/bank, till under the engine and from there 2 to one further backwards?
you won't need to much room that way.

a bit like this shape, but more like the pair on the lower right because the other one crosses the pipe and so needs more room.
the one more to the bottom of the picture looks more what I mean.

it has been done with ls conversions, but it is very tight. the rover is narrower, so there should be more clearance, but it depends on how low the rover sits in the chassis.

its a no no I`m afraid, but please have a go and prove me wrong, all for new ideas etc.

the cerb chassis is 2" wider in the engine bay area than a griff/chim chassis.

with an Rv8 the rear 2 headers on each bank sit directly over the top chassis tube, you would have to run forward to then go downwards,as the chassis gets a little wider further forward, but with the space available you would then be looking at getting 4 headers into a space where there is only room for 2, plus your bend radius would have to be so tight it would be a massive restriction in the flow, plus the added problem of cooking an already hot starter motor on the drivers side.

the cerb ajp8 manifolds are a nightmare in themselves, you cannot make them out of a bigger sized pipe to meet the requirements of the engine as there is no room as it is very tight against the chassis, if the manifolds were able to go forwards on the cerb as with the griff and chim, and using some nice 2" diameter headers then power would increase by a good 20bhp+.
