What Porsche for 50-60k
Discussion
Ok, firstly I have never really liked Porsches much, I then find myself in a very strange position of wanting one. Can not explain this for the life of me other tham perhaps I am getting old.
So anyway, having never been a fan boy I am a bit clueless on the variants, not looking for a striped out racer, want it to do everyday, want it with an USB type socket. Been looking at the 997 911 Turbo, this looks good. What alternatives do I have for my money?

May be an idea to post in the Porsche forum as well :-)
No experience of owning a Porsche but been a fan for years and also frequent the Porsche forum daily.
997 turbo seems the ideal everyday very fast option
Can take anything that's thrown at it
Decent boot, 4WD, refined and back seats
There's also a newer normal 997 for your budget but depends if you want the extra performance of the turbo
There's also the GT3 but not sure if your budget will buy a 997 GT3 which is more focused and only a 2 seater but what I read quite ok for using more frequently than the 996 variant
Like I said I'm no expert just stuff I've read on the Porsche forums posted by owners.

Well the colour scheme is truly something to behold! The turbo S badge isn't central at the back (some have been known to add an S badge to standard turbo's), I can't the turbo S badge that should be at the base of the centre console, and can't see if the rev counter also has the badge. Also has the optional wheels (not as nice imo), and I think they are a tad narrower that the standard ones from memory. 489bhp, hmmmm? Tread carefully. A 997 GTS/GT3 would be so much better (and re-sellable!).
