Well i was currently waiting till xmas day (this friday) to pick up the new car.

My finance agreement on it has gone through ,so just have to wait on the bits i requested to be done to it.

anyway , i just hpi`d it off my phone literally 5 mins ago .Its coming back as having finance agreement starting on 9/9/13 .The number for blackhorse provided is out of date line aswel.

as its so early in the day , i cant ring the dealer yet.

how do i proceed , guessing just get a number for blackhorse and ask them to verify?

You need to make sure the finance is settled in full before changing hands. Trader or private?

I'm guessing that the dealer has it on some sort of stock finance and consequently it shows up. Ask them.

I had the same years ago when buying an Mx-5. Put a deposit down, HPI'd found finance outstanding so I phoned the finance company and they confirmed the dealer paid off the finance. Just takes time to clear from HPI I guess.

Is it usual for stocking finance to show via HPI though?

Yes. It's a short term loan taken out by the dealer using the cars as colateral. No different from any other car finance but the admin is harder because there are lots of cars involved coming and going onto and off the stocking loan.

Yes - happened to me on a car I was buying too, until I got advice that it was just stocking finance.
