Afternoon all. Hope to catch a few replies over the weekend.
My Chimaera chassis is now 17/18 years old. I've looked after it but PO's most definitely did not.
I don't want to do any work on the car otherwise it will be wasted if it has to come apart for chassis change. I don't want to bother with just outriggers as I expect there will be other corrosion and weld problems concealed in the main tubes.
I guess a number have replaced the complete chassis by now - So who's best for a new chassis please? (Quality, identicalness to the original, improvements upon the original and also price)
Also what are your ideas for best protection of a new chassis (both inside and outside the tubular sections)
I've no idea so I need to be guided by recommendations on our forum,
Many thanks.

Have mine serviced at RT racing and they are a great bunch of guys. Widely know as chassis experts. £3000 Inc. vat for new chassis, not sure if wish bone included, . And I assume that is literally for the chassis not to do the work of swapping the car on to it.

they also offer the camera inside jobbie, the rest of the chassis may not be too bad?

suppose it depends on distance travelling and so on.

^^^ if funds stretch - this is by far and away the best bet IMO.

Read the write-up, a re-designed chassis to update & transform handling - should add loads of value to the car too.

This is where I would be looking if in your shoes & had the cash...

a new one is not automaticlly the better solution....recycle this which is good to today and upgrade
this section which is perforated of rust with stainless steel......

after protect all with hot-dip galvanizing.........as one of the best solution ....

or / and

alternativ and cheaper with only powder coating....but make sure that the preperation include a good phosphating or the new powder coating will not be better as the old.....

take a look under ebay...international or europe.....tvr chassis refit.......or send your contact datas .....

Believe it or not Willow sports cars carry out restoration work for a number of TVR specialists .. This means your car may of been restored by Nick with a another £1000 stuck on for the middle man !

Another thumbs-up for Willow from me. As well as his excellent quality work, Nick is a good chap who will keep you well informed throughout the job.
