Discussion
The Other thread I started has digressed into discussing the movement avawy from the S by a number of people in the recent months.
I find that many of the people who encouraged me to buy the S a year and a bit ago have now moved on.
But is it really a mass exodus or as tvrgit says just some high profile people? eg. Podie, S3Keiran, Richard R, Schnozz etc.
But it does seem that these regulars have been replaced by other such as ukbob, KentishS2 amongst other regular posters.

How many S owners are there here? and how many have changed? - a few, a mere handful (who happen to be high-profile but nevertheless a handful).
It's not exactly a mass exodus... you'll be having new people thinking that nobody wants them and then where will we all be?
Just to keep the discussion all together!
always the way. when I joined PH before I bought the S3 there was another group of "regulars"
back in the olden days, it was Johno, M@H, Dave_H (who sadly died suddenly) and Ted.
Then they moved on, by then I had bought one, then Podie bought one...
Still would heartily recommend the S for any new TVR buyer

I think TVRGit and Shnozz are right in that it's more to do with the perception of change rather than a concerted abandonment of the S.
Podie and Shnozz have both moved on to Chimaeras, and I only sold my S due to family and financial commitments; I think you'll find that none of us made the change out of a desire to get away from the S (and given sufficient budget, we'd probably have kept them [Claire's doesn't count while it's under a tarpaulin!
]), and you only have to look at the speed at which they sold together with the way they held their values to realise that the S is still sought after. So, the moral of the story is enjoy your S, don't worry about having missed some band wagon, and look out for us lurking ex-S owners!

Yes but look how many have joined recently, in some cases it's the driver that has changed/moved on, not the car. e.g pstruck >> GI.

Uhhmm, I wouldn't say I'm that new to S ownership as I've had her nearly 3 years now.
Only discovered the virtues of PH about 7 months ago tho!
I will almost certainly have the S for a while yet as I've not finished spending loads of money on it to not increase it's value any
But I think/hope I'll be in a Chim in the not too distant future. I'd love to keep the S as well. You never know, when I have finished doing everything I want to do to the car I may not be able to separate myself from the old girl

The new owners are here, Sean737, TobyS3, fellow who had Ted's car for a while etc. have all posted a few times both before and after purchase.
It sometimes takes a while to feel "right" (for want of a better word) in the PH community to be able to post without looking like a spanner.
My first 18 months of PH amounted to less than 50 posts I'd say and I'd spend ages searching before daring to ask questions, where-as now I waste hours every day posting
It's partially as I have more to say in terms of ownership knowledge and experience and partially because I've made friends who I can have a laugh with...

Just to clarify, my quote was refering to a mid essex meet where somebody was going to visit to view the S cars prior to purchase (i think)I didn't want to dissapoint somebody by letting them think there would be 6 to 12,when it might only be one or two
I'll be arround for a bit yet

Good, give us a bit longer to understand what it is under the bonnet of your "standard car" that makes all that noise.
