So its time to bin the shed (mk3 Mondeo 200k+).

I want to replace it with something smaller and faster but still a derv as I do 30k a year with up to 7k
Have been looking at 120d's 7.6s to 60 and 40-50mpg it seems a no brainer.
But I’m wondering what else I'm missing..
Golf 2.0 GT GTI - Decent drive but not a quick
SEAT Leon TDI CR FR - not found one near me yet to try
A3 - Not been impressed by the ones I've tried (admittedly a while ago now).

anything else?

Thanks

I suspect the BMW won't be the biggest inside, the most well specced or even the best riding. But I'm pretty sure it'll be a better drive than the other cars you've listed. So on that basis it'd be my pick.

Work blocks me clicking your profile but where are you based?

BCA Blackbusche has a 2008/86k mile black S40 D5 with decent spec that should be in budget (goes through on Friday)

BCA Derby has a red V50 D5 going through on monday too

Log on to the BCA site and search there yourself, most have mechanical and condition reports so you have a good idea before travelling for what you're bidding on.

Im in stoke on Trent.. searching though autotrader with D5 shows the nearest is the one in leeds.
will check BCA.

Looks do play a part of it, yes there is a limit but there's no point getting something that your going to hate..
The vrs was on the list, I cant remember why I discounted it now.
