Evening All,

I am moving to a hamlet called Wyck, just outside of Alton at the end of the month. Felt it right to check-in with my new bretheren.

wavey

I have never been on a PH meet but fully intend to do so when I am settled in. Also looking to reach out to the PH flock, about time I got in touch with like minded people. If anyone is local and fancies a beer please get in touch and let me know.
Would also be interesting to hear of good roads, tracks etc. in the area.

This is a big move for us as we know no-one in the area and are at the opposite side of the country to our folks, friends etc. Looking forward to getting stuck in and meeting a few of you!

Hi Gary, welcome to the fold, there are some great driving roads around hear, in particular, one known as The Hampshire Ring, someone may have an tin. file to download!!! folks are very friendly and normally activities of one kind or another taking lace, but it's that time of year now, should be a Sunday Breakfast meet soon, keep an eye on the forum.

Welcome "daan sarf".

What you driving? there seems to be a cracking mix of cars about (you should see Sandbanks during the summer!)

Having been to only one PH meet myself, I'm looking to expand my horizons beyond the usual single-marque meets I usually attend.

Welcome - you have some really good driving roads right on your doorstep.

A339 Alton to Basingstoke - Pick your time wisely as it is heavily policed and will be busy at times
A32 Alton o Wickham - Pick your time wisely as it is heavily policed and will be busy at times
A272 Winchester to East Sussex - Pick your time wisely as it is heavily policed and will be busy at times
B2146/B2141 Petersfield to Lavant - Pick your time wisely as it is heavily policed and will be busy at times

I see a pattern emerging here! These are all great roads and popular with car drivers and motorcyclists alike. Therefore the local police can come out in force at weekends and these routes do get busy, especially in the summer months.

A33 Basingstoke to Winchester - Normally very quiet and not heavily policed although rather straight
B3349 Alton to Odiham - Not one of my regular routes but every time I have driven it I have enjoyed the drive
And many, many others .......

Get yourself along to the Pub Club and Breakfast meets. We have quite a few decent things going on down here most of the year round.

Thank you! Currently in an A8 Quattro Sport 4.2. Recently swapped for my Z4 3.0. Likely to change soon as well!

Is that Sandbanks near Heathrow?

Thanks for the suggestions. I drove along the B3349 to Odiham the other week. Seemed pretty decent, although SWMBO was with me at the time. I also have a few old friends stationed there who are into their cars...not PHers though...

I will keep my ear to the ground about the meets, cheers for the heads up!

No, Sandbanks right on the south coast, in Poole. 2nd highest property value per square M in the world. There's some seriously expensive motors about during the summer. The bro in law is a parking attendant there and gives me regular updates of what cars are in the main carpark and who's driving them.

You've not seen anything till you've seen a pink Bently and a Burberry wrapped Rangerover!

Hello Garry and welcome to the Souh Coast.

some truly great roads to discover down here, just keep your eyes on the forum and come out for the ride and socialsing. The Doorman, im sure, can take you on some good leisurly rides around the area, you may need the quattro to be fully operational though. Legendary Hoons!
