What dampers are you having Richard?
Gaz Mono's... after reading all the threads and being a trifle confused it seemed the only way forward was just go for what got good press, or rather what didn't get any bad press! Seemed the Mono's were up there for performance, so simple choice, plus they're on a really good deal at the mo! TBH Peter you recommended them for track day use, so with that and a bit more research they seemed like the best option!Fitted today by Mat Smith (top bloke) plus full geo and corner weighting! I now have a different car, I have confidence in it that I never had before, both throwing it into corners and all round stability, it's got handling to match the engine power and braking

I've often heard the term 'planted', but now I know how that feels in beastie... Can't wait to get on the local twisties, it's going to be whole new experience!
Although it's early days, would recommend the Mono's to anyone, (plus the service by Mat). Even on tonights slippy roads I felt more in control than I ever have previously!
Pound for pound results It's probably the best dosh I've spent on the old girl!
We're not just quick in a straight line now

It will be if the rears are a bit stiff and nead a tweek 2 clicks and it gos from lively at the rear
To danceing on ice (1500rpm 2nd gear and looking out of side window)
Good fun as long your on your own on the road
I don't have the low down brutal torque of a standard 500, beastie has a very progressive delivery which makes the car much more predictable and hence easier to drive in damp or slippy conditions To danceing on ice (1500rpm 2nd gear and looking out of side window)

Makes for lotsa fun with less brown trouser moments
I had the monos, new front balljoints and full geo set-up a couple of weeks ago by Dan Taylor. I am equally impressed. I think the rears could be a bit firmer but most likely it is the extra 100lb/ft of torque than I am used to, so haven't touched the damper settings at all! The ride on 400/325 is very good as well!

I have 500 front 400 rears, and TBH, in the short time I've driven the car (70 odd miles home tonight), It's nowhere near the 'go-kart' experience I was expecting... If anything it's a more comfortable ride, if alot firmer, than I had with the original billies!!! Probably need to play with the damper settings, but for now the difference is astounding! Despite Dazs' experience with 500/400 I initially ordered these. Dan had fitted a similar set to a car a few weeks before he did mine. He thought they were very good but the owner found them a bit harsh around the streets of sarf London after living with them for a .
I changed though because he had just fitted an evaluation set of the new Gaz dampers on his own car and they had the 400/325. Ride was firm but not harsh!

Well done Richard, you won't regret it!
I've just removed my springs, (450/400) to send my Monos away for a service.
I've had them for nearly 4 years and they've been very good.
My spring setup was recommended at the time and I thought that would be over firm. It's not and in fact feel a little soft on the track at the limit.
I'm sure you'll get on with yours, definitely a good improvement. I look forward to hearing your feedback in a few weeks.

I'm glad I'm not the only one going for those spring settings
Percentage increase over standard sounds huge and I really was expecting a boneshaker, but in reality it's just not the case! dampers are on fairly soft setting, and there's plenty of scope to stiffen up for the track...Need a good hoon to fully assess, but so far bloody brilliant!
